Who sets the price of intelligence?
Intelligence is becoming the largest input to the economy. So the most important question is not which model is best. It is who sets its price.
Today, the labs do. You pay list price for a model, regardless of whether a cheaper provider is serving the exact same weights, regardless of whether a model one tier down would have solved your task identically, and regardless of whether the request even succeeded.
That is not a market. That is a menu.
Three questions teams are already asking
- Why does the same model cost more on one provider than another?
- Why am I paying frontier prices for requests a smaller model handles identically?
- Why do I pay for a request that timed out?
Best execution answers all three
It is the principle that every order should be filled at the best available price that satisfies the buyer's conditions. Finance solved this decades ago. AI has not.
We are building that market. The quality grade is the contract. The execution is the search. The chain is the ledger.
What Grade is, plainly
Grade bills half of list. While the vault is funded it runs the exact model you name and the vault pays the other half; when it is not, a model matched to the one you name fills the request, and it may not be that exact model. When you need the exact model, Batch gives it to you at half price with answers later, and the plain route gives it to you now at list. A failed request costs nothing on any of them.
$BESTEX
Launched on Pons with a 3% creator fee. The fee is claimed into the Execution Vault and split: 40% funds half price for stakers on every model, 30% rebates, 10% builder and strategist bonuses, 20% operations. No reflections, no dividends. The token has one job: hold it and your AI bill goes down.
The vault is also fed by things that are not the token: a 4% margin on Standard usage, the routing spread, order-book fees, and a 10% cut of app fees. That is what keeps Half alive when trading is quiet.
Limits, stated plainly
- Half capacity each day equals the vault's balance. When it is spent, Half pauses for the day and requests fall back to Exact. The number is on the ticker.
- Standard users are never subsidised. They get routing savings, refunds and a trial.
- Credits are a grant of product access, not an investment, and are not redeemable for cash.
